Tell Me If This Sounds Familiar …
You’re in pain or nursing an injury that just won’t seem to get better.
You’ve probably been to see a physio or chiro or an osteo or even another myotherapist - and maybe you’ve gotten short-term relief - but no one has actually known how to fix your problem and stop your pain ever coming back.
You’ve been spending money left, right & centre on a problem that no one can give you a clear answer on or more importantly, a timeframe for when this injury will be healed so you can stop treatment.
Trying to make the right decision of who to trust to see about your injury, hoping you’re not about to throw more money away is super stressful.
If this sounds like you, why don’t you book a free phone consultation first?
So we can have a chat about your case & explain how we can get you pain-free and strong.
Then only once you’re comfortable and all your questions have been answered, you make the decision whether you want to start working with us.

How are we different from anyone else you've seen?
We’re different because we COMBINE myotherapy or osteotherapy with strength training.
One without the other is like getting half the job done.
MYOTHERAPY / osteopathy
We treat your symptoms with either myotherapy or osteopathy to get you pain-free and feeling happy in your body again.
STRENGTH TRAINING
We use strength training to address the root cause of your symptoms so your pain never comes back.
Why Should You Trust Us Anyway
It’s a good question and feeling apprehensive before booking in with a new practitioner is not only normal, but wise.
You need to know that the people who you’re about to entrust your body to are professional, qualified, have your best interests at heart and can deliver.
To ease your concerns, please have a read of some of our Google Reviews below from real clients who were just like you.
What is myotherapy?
Myotherapy is a form of manual therapy. That means, we’ll put our hands on your body to help take the pain or tension away. The techniques that myotherapists use to do this are, remedial massage, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, dry needling, cupping and corrective exercise.
But before we do this, we’ll use both passive and active assessments to hone in on which muscles, joints or connective tissue are presenting as the most dysfunctional. This means, we won’t be going in blind, we’ll have reasoning behind what and why we treat the tissue we’ve chosen to release.
What is osteopathy?
Osteopathy is also a form of manual therapy. The techniques that osteopaths will use are, remedial massage, joint mobilisation or manipulation, MET stretching (resistance based stretching), dry needling, cupping and corrective exercises.
Our osteopaths also use a thorough, whole-body assessment approach to find the areas of movement dysfunction before chosing which region to treat. Osteopaths look at the whole system to find the reason for a person’s pain which may differ from the part that is actually hurting.
Should I see a myotherapist or osteopath?
If you’ve read the above descriptions you’ll note there’s a bit of overlap with myotherapy and osteopathy. Both are a form of manual therapy that use assessments to target and treat pain and dysfunction.
Which modality you should choose really depends on you.
If you like more deep tissue, remedial massage and dry needling to alleviate pain in your muscles, we’d recommend myotherapy.
If you prefer a gentler approach that includes the power of joint mobilisations, manipulations with some MET stretching, we’d recommend osteopathy.
No one is better than the other, just different. Both are extremely effective, both will alleviate your pain and improve your biomechanics and both will give you a clear pathway of how to improve the function of your body so your pain never comes back.
Let me tell you a secret …
It doesn’t actually matter which modality you choose, it’s the practitioner that makes the difference.
I’m sure you’ve had friends who’ve have “an amazing physio” and other friends who’ve had a terrible experience with physiotherapy. And someone else who swears by their chiropractor and others who feel like they’re on a conveyor belt.
Myotherapy and osteopathy are not immune either, you’ve got your greats and then you’ve got people who are just clocking in and clocking out, doing the same old treatment they always do and servicing at the bare minimum.
This is why it’s so confusing when you’re trying to decide on which modality you should pick. People’s experiences with each modality vary so greatly because they’ve all seen different people.
It’s not about the modality, it’s about the practitioner.
It shouldn’t matter what modality the person does, what matters most is whether that person does their modality well.
But that’s half the equation. The other half?
Has that practitioner and got your back? Are they invested in you?
Are they willing to go the extra mile for you? Will they not rest until you’re pain-free?
You don’t want someone to refer you off as soon as things get tough or don’t work out immediately.
You want someone who has the courage to support you through the whole journey. For a practitioner that takes guts, experience and professional self belief.
We don’t have practitioners at Urban Leopard who work any other way.
